2024 Election results…. Now what?
I have to say, I did not see that coming. I thought for sure that enough of the American public remembered how much of a mess Trump was during his first presidency – but I did not anticipate the level of misogyny, racism, and general disregard for fellow humans that runs rampant in our society.
We are suffering from a lack of education, from a lack of compassion, and I think a broad desperation for something different. Disenfranchised voters all over the place feel like the status quo has to change. I think that most of us agree on that. But how to go about change is where we differ. Voters have chosen to go in the direction of disruption. Destroy the democratic processes that run this country from the inside out.
We’ve all seen the news. We’re processing it in our own ways and on our own timelines.
I started Dance Uprising in 2019 to have a creative outlet to process complex feelings about intricate, complicated social situations. It has grown to encompass so much more than that for me. Dancers have joined me to build a community of acceptance, creativity, and loving support. It’s so special <3
Be prepared to see our politically charged work as we process the societal changes around us. Let’s make radical art, my friends!
